Overview
Fermentation equipment is currently widely used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, monosodium glutamate, enzyme preparations, and food. Various microorganisms grow, metabolize, and process fermentation products in an appropriate environment in a fermentation tank.
Structure and characteristics
Fermentation equipment tank types can be divided into two categories: one is for anaerobic fermentation (such as alcohol fermentation), and the other is for anaerobic fermentation (such as standard, five type, self-priming, etc.). This type of equipment is most commonly used in standard tank types. The drawings and data of the fermentation tank series designed by our company belong to the standard tank type, which adopts a jacket type when the nominal volume is below 6m3. The cooling or heating of fermentation gas is accomplished by a jacket. When the nominal volume is above 6m3, the cooling of the fermentation gas is carried out by a vertical exhaust pipe, and we have made improvements in the connection of the exhaust pipe inside the tank. This mainly avoids opening too many holes on the tank body, creating blind spots. This continuous method has achieved satisfactory results in practical use.
The agitator is the main device in fermentation equipment, which mixes fresh culture medium components, air, and mycelium thoroughly by stirring the steam to achieve mass and heat transfer effects. At present, there are three basic forms of agitators: flat blades (straight blades), curved blades, and arrow blades. Our company uses curved blades in the equipment provided. This curved blade worm gear agitator has a shearing effect on the fermentation steam, which flows in both directions and axes. Compared with the straight blade worm gear agitator, the curved blade agitator consumes less power under the same diameter, speed, and blade width conditions, but the effect is very good. It is currently widely used in China.
In terms of motor configuration, we use Y-shaped motors (horizontal) and YJL type motors (vertical). Typically, vertical motors are used for nominal volumes below 15m3. Horizontal motors can also be used.
The connection of the tank surface is also very important for fermentation tanks. Based on our years of experience, we have designed a reasonable connection direction, which is very convenient for workers to operate. The connection size has been calculated and can be negotiated and changed if the user has specific requirements. For special specifications, our company can design separately.
